Despite denials, it was too good not to be true - [tag]Apple[/tag] have announced the [tag]iPod video[/tag].
Steve Rubel has some links up already! Engadget has some details too ... and Make: ... TechDirt wades in on how pointless it is to be able to buy [tag]DRM[/tag]ed episides of TV shows from iTunes for $2 a pop in this day of video recorders (a valid point ...).
Comes in black, white and scratched ...
The next product rumored from Apple is a set of 3D glasses to connect to the video iPod that allows customers to enjoy a high-definition, "better than life" 3D world that Apple will offer customers.
SAN JOSE (Reuters) - Apple Computer Inc. on Wednesday unveiled a version of its market-leading [tag]iPod[/tag] that also plays [tag]video[/tag], a long-rumored product that could further spark sales of the popular devices.
The [tag]video iPod[/tag] has a 2.5 inch screen and comes with 30 or 60 gigabyte memory. It will be priced at $299 and $399, respectively, the company said at a news event in Silicon Valley.
Apple has already sold more than 28 million iPods since their introduction in October 2001 and now has about 75 percent of the market for digital music players.
The company has refreshed the iPod line-up many times since their introduction. Apple on September 7 unveiled the iPod [tag]nano[/tag], a pencil-thin device that uses memory chips instead of hard disk drives to store songs.
Apple also introduced a new [tag]iMac[/tag] computer with a remote control to allow access to music, photos and movies at the same news event in California's Silicon Valley.
