Remember how I said yesterday that I had emailed Apple regarding the iTunes/iPod problems that people have been telling me about, well, I got a response:
Hi Adrian,
There is a new version, iTunes 5.0.1. Please check the iTunes site at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ for the new version.

That's it. This after I had pointed out that dozens of you have reported problems with iTunes 5.0.1 as well as 5.0. An official download location for iTunes 4.9 does not seem forthcoming.
I've shot off another email making the iTunes 5.0.1 problem clearer to see if I get a better response.
As usual, I'll pass along what I find.
