I don't want it to sound like I'm on an anti-Apple rant here or anything (after the last post) but I do need to make a post about the iTunes 5.0 problems that people seem to be having with it.
My daily mailbag has been filled with emails from people that are:
- Having problems with iTunes 5.0 and iPods
- Problems installing iTunes 5.1
- Problems ripping CDs with iTunes
- Problems finding iTunes 4.9
There seems to be a lot of people having iTunes problems and I really sympathize but I'm afraid that beyond the solutions that I've posted here there's very little else I can offer in the way of help (unless you are having the error "1607: unable to install Installshield Scripting Runtime", if you are there's a fix here 
). It's getting hard to find a legal download of iTunes 4.9 and I don't have the time or the willpower to fight any lawyers that come my way to offer a download on this site or via email. I really am sorry.
There seems to be some serious problems with iTunes that Apple are slow in fixing - I just hope that they get their act together soon.
