HP recalls 15,700 notebook batteries

Hewlett-Packard is recalling around 15,700 HP and Compaq notebook batteries sold worldwide because they represent a burn and fire hazard.  This comes after HP received 20 reports of batteries overheating.
Notebooks involved in the recall are:

HP Pavilion, series dv1xxx and ze2xxx
HP Compaq, series nx48xx
Compaq Presario, series V2xxx and M2xxx

All the affected batteries have a bar code [...]

Attention Nikon owners!  Nikon have expanded their list of batteries that have been recalled .  If you are the owner of a Nikon D100, D70 or D50 camera that uses an EN-EL3 (or EN-EL3a or EN-EL3e) battery then you might be affected.

Hewlett Packard is recalling around 135,000 battery packs for some HP and Compaq laptops because of overheating issues.
The lithium ion rechargeable battery packs in question are used with HP Pavilion, Compaq Presario, HP Compaq and Compaq Evo laptops.
